We support single Mama’s through cancer caregiving, loss, and healing, offering resources, community, and compassion.
The Elijah Legacy Project supports single mothers caring for children battling cancer. We walk with them through the challenges of diagnosis, caregiving, loss, and healing. Our mission, rooted in love and resilience, provides unwavering support at every stage of their journey. Inspired by Elijah’s spirit, we offer a safe space for mothers to connect, heal, and rediscover their strength. Through shared experiences, we ensure no mother walks alone, and every child’s legacy is celebrated. Our vision is to create a community where love and presence guide every mother’s journey, transforming grief into strength and empowering mothers to reclaim their voices and identities. Together, we build a lasting legacy of hope, healing, and remembrance.
Tara Joy is the heart and founder of The Elijah Legacy Project. A mother of four, Tara left behind a family construction business to care for her son, Elijah, full-time after his cancer diagnosis. To support her family during this difficult time, she became a licensed esthetician and a certified Reiki practitioner, working from home to offer comfort and healing. As Elijah’s condition worsened, Tara trained as a death doula, guiding him through his final days with peace and presence. Today, Tara channels that same compassion, strength, and wisdom into supporting mothers facing the impossible — from caregiving to grief and rediscovery. The Elijah Legacy Project is her mission to ensure no mother walks this journey alone.
Born from love. Forged in loss. Carried forward in legacy.
